Lesson Plan for The Rainbow Belly Breath: Managing Strong Feelings with Pigsy the Rainbow Piglet

$3.00

This lesson is based on my children's book called Pigsy the Rainbow Piglet. Included in this SEL lesson is a detailed plan for teaching your young students how to take a belly breath as a strategy to calm strong feelings. The lesson plan includes, of course, suggested step-by-step directions that you can follow that will lead your students to a deeper understanding of how to take a belly breath and why taking such a breath is important in self-regulation. The lesson plan includes extension activities such as a drawing and writing page and a popsicle stick puppet activity. Finally, the plan contains a full-color, 8 1/2 x 11 mini-poster of the three steps of the Rainbow Belly Breath that children learn to use in the lesson.

This lesson plan is designed to work together with my slide deck for The Rainbow Belly Breath: Managing Strong Feelings with Pigsy the Rainbow Piglet.
